2017. the body will always bend
the body will always bend before it breaks, the tower will always break before it bends, 2017
Art Gallery of York University (AGYU) (curator: Emelie Chhangur)
Originally a project that would explore the durational aspect of performance in a gallery space the works locus changed, instead exploring the performative potential of objects. As a historical 'pivot' within the exhibition, two key productions from the Ballet Russes act as a ground: Ode (1928) and Apollon Musagète (1928). The works look to reanimate these productions and their potential movements within a contemporary context.
