projects > 2015. Reclining Nude

In working with a live model over a series of sittings, a familiar domestic scene is staged. On the table next to the woman is a book on modernist structure, often the topic of discussion. The draped scene is once again stagnated on the surface of the canvas through marking with graphite. The weight of the graphite is defined by the hardness or softness of the surface below the woven fabric.
